WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:
- Spiny, erect slender shrub 50cm to 2m high.
- Tiny orange-brown flowers August to November.
WHERE IT GROWS & WHY:
- Sclerophyll communities, on sandy soils.
MANAGEMENT/SIGNIFICANCE:
- Important component of understorey.
- Legume - improves soil fertility through "fixing" nitrogen.
- Excellent refuge plant for native birds.
